Curriculum

Academics at YHS are a holistic experience which ensures overall development with an equal emphasis on curricular and co-curricular aspects of quality education.

YHS follows the syllabi prescribed by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.

English is the medium of instruction. Bengali / Hindi is offered as the second language and third language. A third language is compulsory from classes V-VIII.

An activity based approach is adopted through the pre-primary years at YHS focussing on life-skills and developing the foundational skills of learning. A strong base in language acquisition is set through story-telling and action songs.

In the primary classes, students pursue a well – balanced curriculum helping them hone their critical thinking abilities, creative interests and interpersonal skills. YHS lays special importance on good communication and presentation of every student in its care.

YHS students regularly engage in meaningful project work aimed at building essential analytical skills and nurturing their natural curiosity and inquisitiveness.

Value education, with a goal to instil strong moral fibre in the young minds, and environmental education are an essential part of the curriculum. YHS ensures students employ the latest IT competencies as part of their repertoire of the 21st century skill set.

Senior students are mentored to make informed choices and guided to take the path most suited to maximise their potential and live a fulfilling life. An array of academic opportunities in conjunction with various co-curricular activities provides the best possible exposure and platform for personality development and scholastic growth.
